Polestar’s elektrische roadster maakt zijn debuut in België op Zoute Grand Prix

KNOKKE-HEIST, BELGIË - 25 september 2023. Polestar, het Zweedse elektrische performance automerk, neemt van donderdag 5 oktober tot en met zondag 8 oktober 2023 deel aan de 14de editie van de Zoute Grand Prix. Tijdens dit prestigieuze evenement in Knokke-Heist presenteert Polestar een opmerkelijke line-up met de elektrische performance SUV Polestar 3 en twee conceptwagens: de elektrische vierdeurs GT Polestar Precept en het elektrische roadster-concept, dat zijn debuut maakt in de Benelux. Met de ontwikkeling van deze conceptwagens tot productiewagens Polestar 5 en Polestar 6 weerspiegelt de line-up het toekomstige productportfolio. Het markeert een cruciale ontwikkeling waarin het merk haar focus uitbreidt naar het premium elektrische wagensegment en luxe herdefinieert voor een duurzame toekomst.

Lies Eeckman, Managing Director van Polestar België en Luxemburg, onderstreept het belang van Polestar’s nieuwe modellen voor de toekomst van het merk: "Onze nieuwe modellen leiden ons verder weg van de volumemarkt en positioneren ons in het luxueuze en exclusieve elektrische wagensegment. Polestar 3 en 4 zijn daar het eerste bewijs van, en de innovatieve Polestar Precept en het elektrische roadster-concept, de toekomstige Polestar 5 en 6, gaan nog een stap verder. Deze wagens zullen volledig aan de verwachtingen van een luxueuze sportwagen met hoogwaardig rijplezier en topprestaties voldoen.”

De Polestar primeur in de Zoute Grand Prix line-up is het elektrische roadster-concept, dat zal worden ontwikkeld tot de productiewagen Polestar 6. Een sportieve 2+2 met een indrukwekkend aerodynamisch design dat voortbouwt op de ontwerptaal van de Polestar Precept. De twee wagens delen dezelfde ultralichte en stevige carrosserie bestaande uit verschillende met elkaar verlijmde aluminiumlagen die zorgen voor een grensverleggende elektrische rijervaring. Bovendien is het carrosserie gemaakt op het gelabelde aluminium platform van Polestar dat opgezet is voor hoogwaardige recycling. De Polestar 5 en Polestar 6 worden beide aangedreven door de krachtige, in-house ontwikkelde, 800-Volt elektrische architectuur en een dubbele motor aandrijflijn van 900 Nm. Dit resulteert in een vermogen van maximaal 650 kW/884 pk, en voor Polestar 6, een beoogde sprinttijd van 0-100 km/u van 3,2 seconden en een topsnelheid van 250 km/u.

De volledige line-up belichaamt Polestar's ambities op gebied van design, technologie en duurzaamheid. Lies Eeckman verklaart hoe design innovatie stimuleert: "We gebruiken design als een lens om uitdagingen te benaderen, creatieve oplossingen te vinden en te innoveren in verschillende domeinen. Enkele goede voorbeelden hiervan worden getoond in de conceptwagens, zoals het gebruik van gelabeld aluminium dat ontwikkeld is voor hergebruik, en innovatieve, duurzamere materialen zoals 3D-knit van 100% gerecyclede petflessen en vlasvezel composiet die we in onze wagens gebruiken zonder in te boeten op een premium uitstraling."

Met meer dan 5.000 wagens op de Belgische wegen, vier toegewijde Polestar Spaces en verschillende Pop-up Spaces, waaronder de meest recente in Hasselt, heeft Polestar in slechts vier jaar tijd een gevestigde positie op de Belgische markt verworven. Wat het merk onderscheidt van concurrenten in de ICE/hybride-sector, is haar volledige toewijding aan elektrische mobiliteit en innovatie.

De eerste Belgische leveringen van de elektrische performance SUV, Polestar 3, worden verwacht in het tweede kwartaal van 2024. De SUV coupé Polestar 4 en de vierdeurs GT Polestar 5, de productieversie van de Polestar Precept, staat een officiële lancering gepland voor 2024. De productieversie van het elektrische roadster-concept, Polestar 6, zal naar verwachting in 2026 op de markt komen.
