Polestar 5 Performance GT now available for virtual test drive at selected Polestar Spaces

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 5 December 2025. Prospective Polestar 5 customers can now experience the performance Grand Tourer in a virtual world at selected Polestar Spaces. Through Polestar’s collaboration with Polyphony Digital, the Polestar 5 is now available to drive in Gran Turismo 7, making this the first opportunity for those outside of the company to get behind the wheel of the brand’s flagship GT.

 

After experiencing all the Polestar 5 has to offer in a digital world, interested customers can also sign up for real-world test drives of the performance GT flagship when they arrive in Spaces during 2026.

Kristian Elvefors, Chief Commercial Officer at Polestar, says “We already know the Polestar 5 is incredible to drive, so we wanted to take this opportunity to let customers experience the car as soon as possible. This virtual test drive is the perfect way for our customers to get behind the wheel of our Performance GT ahead of real cars arriving in our Spaces next year.”

For those with a competitive streak, local time trials will also take place at selected Space locations. And to celebrate the inclusion of the Polestar 5 in Gran Turismo 7, anyone with access can take part in a worldwide time trial on a virtual Brands Hatch race circuit in England. The winner will receive an exclusive trip to Fukuoka, Japan, to attend the World Finals of the 2025 GT World Series*.

 

Polestar 5 is the brand’s new performance flagship GT, offering up to 650 kW, 1,015 Nm of torque and a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.2 seconds for the Performance model found in Gran Turismo 7. Built on the Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA) using a rigid bonded aluminium platform, the four-door Grand Tourer Polestar 5 offers comfortable continent-crossing capability and sportscar-like performance.

 

During the development and introduction of Polestar 5 to Gran Turismo 7 both Polestar and the experts at Polyphony Digital worked especially closely together to ensure the dynamic qualities of the car were faithfully translated into the virtual world. The result is a virtual test drive opportunity that is a precise digital representation comparable with the real experience.
